Twelve OCC riders headed down to the Goulburn Junior Tour this weekend. The tour consisted of a prologue and road race in Breadalbane on Saturday and an ITT and road race on the Sunday.
In the U8 participation grade, Pip Martin, Nick Chopping, Gydian Dally and Charlie Hall made it almost an all Orange affair. The kids rode really well and everyone finished with a smile on their faces.
Olivia Martin was Orange’s sole representative in the U9s and rode really well, earning the nickname from the Commissaires as the Smiling Assassin!
In the U11 girls, Anja Dally, Sophie Martin and first-timer Amelia Hall battled it out with the other girls, finishing mid-field.
In the U11 boys, Damian Chopping, Xavier Bland and Thapelo Nare rode with a strong bunch of kids from Southern Cross club. Each of the kids did really well, with Thapelo competing in his first regional carnival.
Finally, in the U13 boys, Micah Dibble rode valiantly against some stiff competition.
Each of the kids rode to their limit and showed how these events should be raced – with sportsmanship and good grace when things did not go their way. As a parents and coaches we are very proud of them
