Warning – Cycling can be dangerous

Please make yourself very visible especially if you ride in early mornings, late afternoons or at night. Most night riders will have multiple lights facing both forward and back. An additional small light facing forward on your helmet is great for seeing where your drink bottle holder is, speedo for the time, and simply when you are getting ready to ride. An additional flashing red light on the back of your helmet allows cars to see you earlier because it is higher. The smaller lights are okay to make yourself visible to cars, but they are not so good at lighting up the road far in front of you, so you will find at speed you do not have the time to miss potholes or other road debris. Flashing red rear lights are cheap, so get one that is powerful and can be seen for some distance, don’t risk your life with a weak light to save $10 or 50 grams of weight.
