Club Happenings Email – 28 February

Dear All,

Great week on the roads of Orange with the weather providing plenty of riding  completed by all members.

The club returned to the classic race loop of Millthorpe/Tallwood. In what can only be described as some of the best handicapping ever seen in the world of cycling,  80% of the field finished the race within 40 seconds of the winner, and I’ll leave out the riders that cause this not to be 100% but be assured it wasn’t Panda but a Teacher and Wine Maker.

Please check the clubs web site for the race results, updated points score table .

The Committee has decided to cancel this Saturday’s race due to the State Junior Track Championships being held in Dubbo and the Newcrest Challenge Ride which is going to prove to be a very busy weekend for members, and as the club try’s to provide the best racing possible this is why we have made this decision, please understand this wasn’t an easy decision as we are aware that members rely on the calendar being correct and up to date.

Please put these dates in your calendar

Sunday 5th March  The Newcrest Challenge Orange Ride 70km, 170km

Saturday 11th March  Western Division Track Carnival being held at the Moulder Park Velodrome starting at 10am to 6pm this is a great day and well supported by Bathurst, Dubbo Cycling Club

Western Division Track – Flyer 2017

Saturday 1st April B2B Weekend Hill Climb Championships Mt Panorama, Sunday 2nd April B2B

Saturday 8th April Forest Road Loop, Saturday 15th April Tallwood Loop,  Saturday 6th May Huntley Rd ITT Loop  Orange Club Championships

Saturday 16th and  Sunday 17th September The Classic OLO club training ride is back

The Committee would like to thank Nigel Squire for stepping into the role of  Secretary until the next AGM.

Don’t forget if you want to have a say in the Clubs race loops do you have loops that you would think would make great race loops please think about it and let me know by Friday 3rd March so that the club can add them to next year’s calendar’s just so you know the background these loops take about 6 months to go through the process of getting them approved so this is your change but if you miss your window don’t complain about the clubs loops as these are the ones that have been approved.

That’s it’s there is a lot on this weekend so get out and about and enjoy the fun on two wheels.

Kindest Regards

Jeff Ferguson
