Orange Cycling & Triathlon Club: Cycling

Orange is a city of approximately 40,000 people located in the Central West of NSW, situated about 3 1/2 hours drive West of Sydney. Mt Canobolas dominates the skyline looking West from Orange and gives a clue to the varied terrain and roads available to the cyclists in this area. In terms of terrain, you can challenge yourself on the steep hills of Mt Canobolas or Pinnacle, or take the flatter options out past the Orange Airport, and through the villages of Spring Hill, Millthorpe and Forest Reefs.

If you are a visitor to Orange the city is also well known as a foodies and wine tasting destination. There are many and varied forms of accommodation available either in Orange with Hotels and Motels and out of town B&Bs. You might consider staying in the village of Millthorpe if you like the idea of somewhere more historic and peaceful, this is an excellent base for the cyclist to explore the scenic roads that generally on have light vehicle traffic.

The cycling section is the road bike arm of the Orange Cycling and Triathlon Club (OCTC). Our club caters for the social and competitive cyclist. There are several social training rides occurring in Orange each week, these rides are not organised or sanctioned by the OCTC, but you will find many of our club members in the groups and they can introduce you to cycling in groups and give you information on how to join our club and gain a Cycling Australia licence. Follow the Activities and Local Rides detail below to read more about the rides, both social and races.
